English Grammar - Comparisons & Word Order (Intermediate level)

This English grammar course shows you how to make comparisons. We also go over the correct order in which to use comparative terms and examine conditional statements, idioms and more. English grammar can sometimes be confusing but this course breaks down complex rules into easy steps to help you gain confidence as you become fluent in this global language. We also employ exercises and audio clips to help you refine your accent and pronunciation.

This English grammar course teaches you about the word order of comparative forms. We explain how to use suffixes for one-syllable and two-syllable words. We take you through the English grammar form 'more and adjective' and the use of 'more' with adverbs such as ‘quietly’, ‘slowly’ to describe actions. You will also learn how to use certain words and phrases in comparative forms to emphasize the extent or level of something and how to repeat comparatives to amplify and exaggerate certain points.
The course then breaks down the use of 'the' with comparative words and phrases, especially for zero conditional statements and idioms (for example: “If the babies are hungry, they cry.”). In terms of English’s word order, the object normally follows the verb. 'Place' usually also comes after the verb and if the verb has an object, 'place' comes after both. This may sound complex but doing this course’s exercises and listening to our audio files will make it much easier for you to understand and remember these rules in conversation.
Learning a new language like English can be challenging but this course can help you gain confidence as you become fluent. We break down grammatical rules step by step until they make sense. We also use exercises and audio clips to help you polish your accent and pronunciation. Sign up to quickly master English comparisons and word order.
